It is well
26 March 2016: It is well
Hello
everyone,
How
are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have
[perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and
trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take
courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I
have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]” John
16v33 (AMP)
Today’s
encouragement is a three phase word – “it is well”. 2 Kings 4 tells us about a
great woman of Shunem who urged Elisha the prophet to stay for a meal when he
passed by. Later on, she made him a small room on her roof top putting in a
bed, table, chair and lamp that he could stay in whenever he passed by. Elisha
decided to bless her with something. His servant pointed out that she didn’t
have a child, and so he said she would have one by this time next year. And she
did to the glory of God. One day the child fell ill and died shortly after. The
woman laid the child down and went to meet Elisha. Verses 25 and 26 says “So she went and came unto the man of God to mount Carmel. And
it came to pass, when the man of God saw her afar off, that he said to Gehazi
his servant, Behold, yonder is that Shunammite: Run now, I pray thee, to meet
her, and say unto her, Is it well with thee? is it well with thy husband? is it
well with the child? And she answered, It is well:” From every human stand
point, we know that all was not well. The child had died. What are you
confronting today that is from a human stand point, does not look well? Is it a
spiritual challenge, a physical difficulty, your marriage? The fact is it is
indeed well. Not because of us, but because of God. Psalm 34v19 (KJV) says
“Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of
them all.” Moreover, Psalm 34v17-18 (KJV) says “The righteous cry, and the LORD
heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. The LORD is nigh unto
them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.”
Beloved, in the world we will have tribulation but we are told of the Lord to
be of good cheer because He has overcome the world J The woman of Shunem’s child was raised from the dead. With
your situation, it is well and you will come to glorify God.
Prayer
Father,
I thank You for Your Word. I pray that You will indeed transform my way of
thinking that I will know Your will for me, that which is good and pleasing and
perfect in Jesus name, amen.
