Hidden Treasures

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

Primary Text
“And He said to them, Be careful what you are hearing. The measure [of thought and study] you give [to the truth you hear] will be the measure [of virtue and knowledge] that comes back to you—and more [besides] will be given to you who hear. For to him who has will more be given; and from him who has nothing, even what he has will be taken away [by force],” Mark 4v24-25 (AMP)

“Be careful therefore how you listen. For to him who has [spiritual knowledge] will more be given; and from him who does not have [spiritual knowledge], even what he thinks and guesses and supposes that he has will be taken away.” Luke 8v18 (AMP)

There is something about speaking to someone who you know hears you and will do as you say versus someone who hears you and doesn’t take note of what you say. Do you know people that you have to repeat what you tell them over and over and over again because they just do not seem to hear you or do not remember what you have said? Indeed, it is easier to keep giving to the one who is receptive, isn’t it? So it is with things of God. The Word of God for example is living and alive. The more you interact with it, the more revelation you will be given. The measure of thought and study you give to the truth you hear will be the measure of virtue and knowledge that comes back to you and more besides … 1 Peter 2v2 (KJV) says “As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby.” 2 Peter 1v2-3 (TLB) says “Do you want more and more of God’s kindness and peace? Then learn to know Him better and better. For as you know Him better, He will give you, through His great power, everything you need for living a truly good life: He even shares His own glory and His own goodness with us!” Amen. James 4v8 says we should draw nigh to God and He will draw nigh to us. And we can get to know God better by digging deep into His Word and by fellowshipping with the Spirit of truth who guides us into all truth. Hallelujah.

Prayer

Our Father and our God, we thank You so much for this day. We thank You for Your Word and the great treasures to be had in it. We pray that we will be given wholly to meditating upon it, that we will really come to know You more and more and truly experience eternal life which is knowing You and the Lord Jesus Christ. All this we pray in Jesus name, amen.
