Seeking and Finding
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and
bubbling in the Lord.
As children of God, God wants us to come to Him
with our needs, desires, wants, and to know Him. Basically, God wants us to ask
Him for things, seek Him about things, and knock on His door for our various
needs. Matthew 7v7-11 (English Standard Version) tells us that “Ask, and it
will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to
you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the
one who knocks it will be opened. Or which one of you, if his son asks him for
bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a
serpent? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your
children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to
those who ask Him!” Hallelujah.
I read recently about how sometimes in seeking
God we have found what we sought, but do not realize it. The illustration was
given of a man who has a debt and must go to prison. A friend who hears of his
misfortune sends him a letter that he will be his surety i.e. he will come and
bail him out. Though he is in prison and his friend hasn’t come, the man is
assured that he will be released and his debt paid, because he relies on his
friend’s word. Though he has found someone to release him, the actual
experience of him being released will come later.
For us, God has sent us His word, and His
promise; what we need to wait for is the actual experience and manifestation of
that Word. Our current situation may not look anything like what we desire to
receive, but we need to hold fast to the Word of God, and not let the physical
be our reality. We need to be rest assured that God’s Word is true.
Prayer
Father, I thank You for Your Word. You are indeed
a great and good and generous Father. Daddy, help me to hold onto Your Word,
let not my physical become my reality, and let me never be discouraged from
seeking You in Jesus name, amen.
