His Good Work in You (2)
Dearly Beloved, I trust this finds you well and bubbling in the Lord. We
continue looking at Philippians 1v6 (NIV) which says that “being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry
it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” One thing that is highlighted here about the work that God Himself initiated
and started in us is that it is a good work. Synonyms for good include good
quality, great, nice, excellent, and decent. Beloved, God started this work. In
scripture, God is likened and referred to as a Potter, while we are sheep in
His hands. Isaiah 64v8 (NIV) says “Yet You, LORD, are our Father. We are the
clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of Your hand.” Amen.
Ephesians 2v10 says we are God’s handiwork, masterpiece, and workmanship.
The Living Bible says “It is God Himself who has made us what we are and given
us new lives from Christ Jesus; and long ages ago He planned that we should
spend these lives in helping others.”
Indeed, He has begun a good work in us that also includes us doing good
works. Acts 10v38 (KJV) tells us “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the
Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were
oppressed of the devil; for God was with Him.” Amen. God is with you child of
God. God is doing a good work in you and is enabling you to do good works.
Amen.
Prayer
Father, we thank You so much for this day which You have made. Thank You
for starting a good work in me. I yield to Your work in my life. Thank You for enabling
me to do good works too. Help me not to faint in doing good. Even as my light
shines and people see my good works, may all the glory go to You in Jesus name,
amen.
