His Good Work in You (4)
Dearly Beloved, I trust this finds you well and bubbling in the Lord. We
continue looking at Philippians 1v6 (NIV) which says that “being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry
it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” One thing about the good work that God has started is that He will
complete it. I am reminded of our Lord Jesus Christ who came down to earth to
die for us. That work was finished on the Cross, Jesus said, it is finished,
but the grave did not hold Him down. God raised Him up and now He is seated at
His right hand. God finished that work. He did not leave Him hanging and He
won’t leave You hanging.
In Psalm 57v2 (AMPC), the Psalmist expresses this truth in saying “I
will cry to God Most High, Who performs on my behalf and rewards me [Who brings
to pass His purposes for me and surely completes them]! Child of God, God
always brings to pass His work in our lives – if we trust Him, put our
confidence in Him and stay with Him. His work in us may not always seem nice
and flowery, but if you stay with God, you will always have cause to say,
surely, goodness and mercy have followed me all the days of my life. Take
Joseph for example, he was sold into slavery, he was wrongfully accused and
sent to prison, and then he was promoted to become second to Pharaoh in Egypt.
Take a look at his testimony to his brothers who sold him into slavery: “As for
you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about
that many people should be kept alive, as they are today.” (Genesis 50v20). Hallelujah.
Beloved, God will cause all things to work together for your good. The good
work He started in you, He will complete it. Stay with God. Rest in God. Trust
in God.
Prayer
We pray from Jude 1v24-25 (NIV): “To Him who is able to keep you from
stumbling and to present you before His glorious presence without fault and
with great joy – to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and
authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore!
Amen.”
