Add Patience (Endurance) [3]
Dearly Beloved, I trust this finds you well and bubbling in the Lord. We continue our
study on the need to develop patience in addition to the promises we have,
faith, virtue and knowledge. One area that we need patience is during troubles
and hardships. Romans 12v12 says we should be patient in tribulation. Ecclesiastes 7v8 (AMPC) says “Better is the end of
a thing than the beginning of it, and the patient in spirit is better than the
proud in spirit.”
Interestingly enough, we find as well that our patience grows in the
midst of trials and troubles. James 1v2-4 (NLT) says “Dear brothers
and sisters, when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great
joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance
to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will
be perfect and complete, needing nothing.” Brethren, let us grow in patience and endurance, knowing that God is faithful, and He will not let us be tempted beyond
that which we are able to bear (1 Corinthians 10v13). We already have the
victory in Christ Jesus and we will see the manifestation of it as we endure.
The Psalmist testifies to this in saying “I waited patiently for the LORD to
help me, and He turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the pit of
despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and
steadied me as I walked along. He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise
to our God. Many will see what He has done and be amazed. They will put their
trust in the LORD” (Psalm 40v1-3, NLT). Hallelujah.
Prayer
Father, we thank You so much for this day that You have made. We thank
You for and pray according to Your Word in 1 Peter 5v10 that after we have
suffered a little while, You the God of all grace [Who imparts all blessing and
favor], Who has called us to His [own] eternal glory in Christ Jesus, will
Himself complete and make us what we ought to be, establish and ground us
securely, and strengthen and settle us in Jesus name, amen. Father, to You be
the dominion, power, authority, and rule forever and ever, amen.
