Persistent Faith

Dearly Beloved, I trust this finds you well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for the amazing access we have to His throne of grace where we can obtain mercy and find grace to help in our time of need. Today’s encouragement is to let us know that we should persist in our faith in God. One way we show we have faith in God is by inviting Him into every situation and trusting Him to come for the answers. We demonstrate our faith by praying with the assurance that God exists, that He hears us, that He has the ability to do what He says He can do and that He cares about us.

In Luke 18, Jesus told His disciples a parable “to the effect that they ought always to pray and not to turn coward (faint, lose heart and give up)” (v1, AMPC). There may be situations that look so impossible, but prayer is in effect saying God I know You are well able to do this and I am committing it to you. I refuse to give up on it until you come through. Jesus ended the parable by saying “And will not [our just] God defend and protect and avenge His elect (His chosen ones), who cry to Him day and night? Will He defer them and delay help on their behalf? I tell you, He will defend and protect and avenge them speedily. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find [persistence in] faith on the earth?” (Luke 18v7-8, AMPC). God is faithful and He cares.
