Great is Thy Faithfulness

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. Sometimes it is easy to look at the “difficulties” around and forget about the faithfulness of God. A message I listened to spoke about how sometimes, a storm comes that doesn’t seem to distinguish between those who believe in God and those who don’t and at those times, God might ask us to take a step into the impossible. An example would be when the Israelites were confronted with the Red Sea, but that night God drove the sea back with a strong east wind and turned it into dry land (Exodus 14). Three points I took away from that message were that:

1) God had earned a right to ask them to walk in the impossible. That is, God had a track record of doing wonders, and had brought them out of Egypt with a mighty hand. The same way God has earned the right to ask you to step into the impossible again, because He has proven Himself faithful all these years.
2) If you look back, you will see you have already been walking in the impossible – each time you had trusted God, said no to sin, believed God for something, “left Egypt”.
3) Every testimony is God’s testimony - we are God’s testimony. Imagine God telling His testimony about your life – how He saved you and kept you and has been with you and how He continues to make impossibilities possible in your life.
(If you want to listen to the full message, its called “Step into the Impossible” by Pastor William Carrol, preached on November 21, 2010. Link: http://www.tscnyc.org/media_center.php?pg=sermons)

So, trust in the faithfulness of God. Walk into that situation that seems impossible with Him. Trust Him in that storm that will cause the Red Sea to be parted.

Primary Text: Exodus 15v11

“Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father; There is no shadow of turning with Thee; Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not; As Thou hast been, Thou forever will be.

Refrain: Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness! Morning by Morning new mercies I see. All I have needed Thy hand hath provided; Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord unto me!

Summer and winter and springtime and harvest, Sun, moon and stars in their courses above. Join with all nature in manifold witness, To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth, Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide; Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow, Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!”
