Your Call

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for another day, for watching over us, His blessings, His mercies, His lovingkindness, and faithfulness. Now, God has a special plan for your life – yes you. You have been made by God for His glory, and for His purposes. Jeremiah 29v11 (AMP) says “For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.”

One reason why it is good to know that God has plans for your life, is so that you do not start comparing yourself to others. One thing my mum likes to say is “ika o dogba.” Meaning – fingers are not the same. So, if you look at the fingers on your hand, though they are of the same hand, none of them are the same. So it is in the body of Christ, we are His body, but the parts are not the same. We have been put in place, in the body, to play specific roles, by God Himself (1 Corinthians 12). You are important. Are you playing your part?

Primary Text: 2 Corinthians 10:12
“Not that we [have the audacity to] venture to class or [even to] compare ourselves with some who exalt and furnish testimonials for themselves! However, when they measure themselves and compare themselves with one another, they are without understanding and behave unwisely.” 2 Corinthians 10v12 (AMP)

“We’re not, understand, putting ourselves in a league with those who boast that they’re our superiors. We wouldn’t dare do that. But in all this comparing and grading and competing, they quite miss the point.” 2 Corinthians 10v12 (MSG)

“Oh, don’t worry; we wouldn’t dare say that we are as wonderful as these other men who tell you how important they are! But they are only comparing themselves with each other, using themselves as the standard of measurement. How ignorant!” 2 Corinthians 10v12 (NLT)

Don’t fall into the trap of comparing yourself to other people. Remember, “For not he that comendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth” (2 Corinthians 10v18).

Supplementary Text
“Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God. And these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes; that ye might learn in us not to think of men above that which is written, that no one of you be puffed up for one against another. For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hast not received it?” 1 Corinthians 4v5-7 (KJV)

Prayer
Father, I thank You so much for Your Word. Father, grant me the grace to be all that You have appointed me to be. I submit to Your will, Your plans and purposes for my life in Jesus name, amen.
