Our Sonship – Yay!
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. The Bible is just so wonderful, God’s words to us are indeed Spirit and life.
Primary Text: Romans 8v15
“For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.” Romans 8v15 (KJV)
“For [the Spirit which] you have now received [is] not a spirit of slavery to put you once more in bondage to fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption [the Spirit producing sonship] in [the bliss of] which we cry, Abba (Father)! Father!” Romans 8v15 (AMP)
“So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when He adopted you as His own children. Now we call Him, “Abba, Father.” Romans 8v15 (NLT)
“This resurrection life you received from God is not a timid, grave-tending life. It’s adventurously expectant, greeting God with a childlike “What’s next, Papa?” Romans 8v15 (MSG)
“The Spirit we received does not make us slaves again to fear; it makes us children of God. With that Spirit we cry out, “Father.” Romans 8v15 (NCV)
Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. Simply wonderful. How wonderful it is that we who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and received Him have been given the right to become the children of God. In fact, we have been given a Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba Father. It doesn’t matter what your idea of a father is, perhaps you did not have a good experience growing up or perhaps your father is passed. But as children of God, you have a Father who loves you so much that He sent His only begotten Son to die for you. Jesus loves you so much that He laid down His life for you, no one took it from Him (John 10v17&18). The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, God loves you so much that He has given you His Spirit by which you can cry Abba Father. Remember, when we pray, we pray to the Father in the name of Jesus, and the Bible says, the prayer of the upright is His delight (Proverbs 15v8).
Supplementary Text:
“He came into the world, and though the world was made through Him, the world did not recognize Him [did not know Him]. He came to that which belonged to Him [to His own – His domain, creation, things, world], and they who were His own did not receive Him and did not welcome Him. But to as many as did receive and welcome Him, He gave the authority (power, privilege, right) to become the children of God, that is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name --Who owe their birth neither to bloods nor to the will of the flesh [that of physical impulse] nor to the will of man [that of a natural father], but to God. [They are born of God!]” John 1v10-13 (AMP)
“For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.” Galatians 3v26 (KJV)
“And in that day ye shall ask Me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in My name, He will give it you. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in My name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full. These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father. At that day ye shall ask in My name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you: For the Father Himself loveth you, because ye have loved Me, and have believed that I came out from God. I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.” John 16v23-28 (KJV)
Prayer
Heavenly Father, we thank You so much for being our Father. We thank You for the Spirit of adoption that You have given unto us whereby we cry Abba Father. We love You, we appreciate You, we honor You. Draw us closer Father, that we may know You more. Thank You Father, Son and Holy Spirit in Jesus name we pray, amen.
