Hope

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for His great grace which is sufficient for us and His strength which is made perfect in weakness. We thank God for hope … We see one wonderful example of hope in the life of Abraham, where the Bible records that: “Even when there was no reason for hope, Abraham kept hoping – believing that he would become the father of many nations. For God had said to him, “That’s how many descendants you will have!” Romans 8v18 (NLT) We have the wonderful hope that one day we will be changed, and our corruptible bodies will be changed to an incorruptible one. That we will have eternal life not only in this world but in that which is to come. It is a hope because we do not see it, but we believe it… We believe God’s Word, and we know He is faithful to do what He has said He would do. Hold on. Wait on Him. Look to Him. “ …now is our salvation nearer than when we believed” (Romans 13v11)

Primary Text: Romans 8v24
“For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?” Romans 8v24 (KJV)

“For in [this] hope we were saved. But hope [the object of] which is seen is not hope. For how can one hope for what he already sees?” Romans 8v24 (AMP)

“We were given this hope when we were save. (If we already have something, we don’t need to hope for it.” Romans 8v24 (NLT)

“We were saved, and we have this hope. If we see what we are waiting for, that is not really hope. People do not hope for something they already have.” Romans 8v24 (NCV)

Now for Abraham even when there was no reason for hope, he kept hoping, believing that he would become the father of many nations. For God had said to him, … What has God said to us?

Supplementary Text:
“So the promise is received by faith. It is given as a free gift. And we are all certain to receive it, whether or not we live according to the law of Moses, if we have faith like Abraham’s. For Abraham is the father of all who believe. That is what the Scriptures mean when God told him, “I have made you the father of many nations.” This happened because Abraham believed in the God who brings the dead back to life and who creates new things out of nothing. Even when there was no reason for hope, Abraham kept hoping – believing that he would become the father of many nations. For God had said to him, “That’s how many descendants you will have!” And Abraham’s faith did not weaken, even though, at about 100 years of age, he figured his body was as good as dead – and so was Sarah’s womb. Abraham never wavered in believing God’s promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God. He was fully convinced that God is able to do whatever He promises. And because of Abraham’s faith, God counted him as righteous. And when God counted him as righteous, it wasn’t just for Abraham’s benefit. It was recorded for our benefit, too, assuring us that God will also count us as righteous if we believe in Him, the One who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. He was handed over to die because of our sins, and He was raised to life to make us right with God. Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory. We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because He has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with His love.” Romans 4v16-5v5 (NLT)

Prayer
Father, we thank You so much for Your Word. Thank You for the peace we have with God because of what our Lord Jesus Christ has done for us. Thank You for everything in Jesus name, amen.
