A Foretaste!

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We give God all the glory for He is on the throne, He is our Father and He cares for you and I. “And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow – not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below – indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8v38-39 (NLT)

Primary Text: Romans 8v23
“And not only the creation, but we ourselves too, who have and enjoy the firstfruits of the [Holy] Spirit [a foretaste of the blissful things to come] groan inwardly as we wait for the redemption of our bodies [from sensuality and the grave, which will reveal] our adoption (our manifestation as God’s sons).” Romans 8v23 (AMP)

“And we believers also groan, even though we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory, for we long for our bodies to be released from sin and suffering. We, too, wait with eager hope for the day when God will give us our full rights as His adopted children, including the new bodies He has promised us.” Romans 8v23 (NLT)

“But it’s not only around us; it’s within us. The Spirit of God is arousing us within. We’re also feeling the birth pangs. These sterile and barren bodies of ours are yearning for full deliverance.” Romans 8v23 (MSG)

Hallelujah. So as children of God, we have been given the Spirit of Christ, and He is in us and dwells with us. If anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is none of His (Romans 8v9). Children of God have the Spirit of Christ in them, and you are His, if you do not, you are not His. Now, as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God (Romans 8v14). Now, we are also being conformed into the image of God by the Spirit of God. For if you live according to the Spirit, according to the leading of the Spirit, you will live, but if you live according to the dictates of the flesh, you will die. So we have the Spirit of Christ in us, and we are being conformed to His image. However, we still groan because we are in mortal bodies. But finally, God will come for us, and give us immortal bodies. Hallelujah. What a wonderful hope we have!

Supplementary Text:
“So then those who are living the life of the flesh [catering to the appetites and impulses of their carnal nature cannot please or satisfy God, or be acceptable to Him. But you are not living the life of the flesh, you are living the life of the Spirit, if the [Holy] Spirit of God [really] dwells within you [directs and controls you]. But if anyone does not possess the [Holy] Spirit of Christ, he is none of His [he does not belong to Christ, is not truly a child of God]. … For if you live according to [the dictates of] the flesh, you will surely die. But if through the power of the [Holy] Spirit you are [habitually] putting to death (making extinct, deadening) the [evil] deeds prompted by the body, you shall [really and genuinely] live forever. For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.” Romans 8v8,9 & 13,14 (AMP)

“For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. So all of us who have had the veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord – who is the Spirit – makes us more and more like Him as we are changed into His glorious image.” 2 Corinthians 3v18&19 (NLT)

“It is God who enables us, along with you, to stand firm for Christ. He has commissioned us, and He has identified us as His own by placing the Holy Spirit in our hearts as the first installment that guarantees everything He has promised us.” 2 Corinthians 1v21-22 (NLT)

Prayer
Father, we thank You so much for Your Spirit in us and dwelling with us. We thank You because we are being changed into the image of the Lord, and eventually we will be given incorruptible bodies. Hallelujah. Thank You Father, Son and Holy Spirit in Jesus name, amen.

And perhaps you do not have the Spirit of Christ, and have not received the Lord as your Lord and personal Savior. And the Bible tells us “That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.” Romans 10v9-10

You can say this prayer: Heavenly Father, I come to You today, confessing that I am a sinner. I am sorry for all that I have done and ask that You forgive me for all of my sins and cleanse me from all unrighteousness. Lord Jesus, I ask that You be Lord and Saviour over my life, and I renounce every work of darkness. I believe that You came to die for my sins, and that God raised You from the dead. Thank You Father for translating me out of the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of Your dear Son. Thank You for sealing me with Your Holy Spirit of promise. Please keep me till the end in You, and may Your Name alone be glorified in my life, in Jesus name I pray, amen.

If you said this prayer today, know that you are now a child of God and that there is much jubilation in heaven because of you. Begin to attend a Bible-believing church, and keep the faith! Welcome into God’s family.
