Gifts for Service

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

Primary Text
“God has given each of you a gift from His great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another.” 1 Peter 4v10 (NLT)

“As each of you has received a gift (a particular spiritual talent, a gracious divine endowment), employ it for one another as [befits] good trustees of God’s many-sided grace [faithful stewards of the extremely diverse powers and gifts granted to Christians by unmerited favor].” 1 Peter 4v10 (AMP)

Beloved, guess what? You have a gift? Who me, yes you! It doesn’t matter what anyone else has told you or what you believe yourself, you have a gift (a particular spiritual talent, a gracious divine endowment) that has been given to you by God (see text below). Haven received this gift then, what do we do with it? Flount it? Be miserly with it? Bury it? No!!! We are asked to use it to serve one another. As a child of God and part of the body of Christ, you have a special role to play. Just as the body of Christ is likened to a physical body with eyes, and ears, nose, mouth, … and each as we know has a role to play, so do you. You might not be as conspicuous as a nose or mouth or ears, but it doesn’t make you any less important or needed. Your gift is important, and needed. Use it to serve and to the glory of God.

Supplementary Text
“There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit is the source of them all. There are different kinds of service, but we serve the same Lord. God works in different ways, but it is the same God who does the work in all of us. A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other. To one person the Spirit gives the ability to give wise advice; to another the same Spirit gives a message of special knowledge. The same Spirit gives great faith to another, and to someone else the one Spirit gives the gift of healing. He gives one person the power to perform miracles, and another the ability to prophesy. He gives someone else the ability to discern whether a message is from the Spirit of God or from another spirit. Still another person is given the ability to speak in unknown languages, while another is given the ability to interpret what is being said. It is the one and only Spirit who distributes all these gifts. He alone decides which gift each person should have. 1 Corinthians 12v4-11 (NLT)

Prayer
Heavenly Father we thank You so much for the gifts You have given Your children in the body of Christ. We ask for a revelation for each one of us to know what our gifts are and the grace to use them to serve each other in love, in Jesus name, amen.
