Above all love!!!

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

“And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.” 1 Peter 4v8 (KJV)

“Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins.” 1 Peter 4v8 (NLT)

“Above all things have intense and unfailing love for one another, for love covers a multitude of sins [forgives and disregards the offenses of others].” 1 Peter 4v8 (AMP)

In many things we offend one another – in word, in speech, in deeds. James 3v2 (AMP) says “For we all often stumble and fall and offend in many things. And if anyone does not offend in speech [never says the wrong things], he is a fully developed character and a perfect man, able to control his whole body and to curb his entire nature.” But the better way in all things is to love. In the verse above, the Apostle Peter writes that “above all things” [above being sober, being prayerful, having faith, …], continue to show fervent charity for one another, for charity covers a multitude of sins. For remember 1 John 4v7-8 (NLT) says “Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love.” And John 13v35 (KJV) tells us that “By this shall all men know that ye are My disciples, if ye have love one to another.” How then does love express itself? 1 Corinthians 13 expands on this saying:

“Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.” 1 Corinthians 13v4-7 (NLT).

Prayer

Heavenly Father we thank You so much for another day and for the love You have shown towards us. Father we thank You for Your Spirit that is on the inside of us, and the love that comes from You. Father, help us to walk in love towards one another in Jesus name, amen.
