Prayer
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in
the Lord.
Primary Text
“But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore
sober, and watch unto prayer.” 1 Peter 4v7 (KJV)
One of the things it is easy to get lazy about, is prayer.
Yet the verse above encourages us that in light of the end of all things being
at hand, we should be sober, and watch unto prayer. When our Lord Jesus was
about to go to the cross, and He was feeling anguished, He prayed. And during
this time He told the disciples “All of you must keep awake (give strict
attention, be cautious and active) and watch and pray, that you may not come
into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Sometimes
we may not feel like it, but having a great prayer life is a necessity in the
life of every believer. Some of us remember the song we learnt at a young age
which said “Prayer is the key, prayer is the key, prayer is the master key,
Jesus started with prayer and ended with prayer, prayer is the master key.”
Prayer is communicating with God, thus inviting and acknowledging Him in our
situations and life. We pray to the Father, in the name of Jesus, through the
help of the Holy Ghost. How is your prayer life? Now even more than ever, you
need to make sure it is up and going. In Ephesians 6, after we are told about
the whole armour of God, verse 18 (AMP) continues by saying “Pray at all times
(on every occasion, in every season) in the Spirit, with all [manner of] prayer
and entreaty. To that end keep alert and watch with strong purpose and
perseverance, interceding in behalf of all the saints (God’s consecrated
people).”
Supplementary Text
“Keep awake then and
watch at all times [be discreet, attentive, and ready], praying that you may
have the full strength and ability and be accounted worthy to escape all
these things [taken together] that will take place, and to stand in the
presence of the Son of Man.” Luke 21v36 (AMP)
Prayer
Heavenly Father we thank You so much for another day and for
Your Word. Father we pray for the Spirit of grace and supplication to rest upon
us. We pray for a baptism in the Spirit for as many of Your children that do
not have it. Have Your way in our lives, in Jesus name, amen.
