The Comforter

 Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. Happy Easter weekend. We thank God for Jesus dying on the Cross for the world, and being raised again for our justification. Hallelujah.

Primary Text
“For what person perceives (knows and understands) what passes through a man’s thoughts except the man’s own spirit within him? Just so no one discerns (comes to know and comprehend) the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.” 1 Corinthians 2v11 (AMP)

Wow, so the Spirit of God knows the thoughts of God. What is the implication of that? Well, one thing is that this same Spirit is the same who is in us and dwelling with us. Many times one may say, I wish God was here with me. But as a believer, you have God the Holy Spirit with you, and He is the One who knows the thoughts of God. The Bible talks of the “… fellowship (the communion and sharing together, and participation) in the Holy Spirit…”  (2 Corinthians 13v14, AMP); communicating with the Spirit of God will give you insight into the heart of God. Hallelujah. Isn’t that just wonderful? That’s why we see in John 16v13 (NLT) Jesus saying that “When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on His own but will tell you what He has heard. He will tell you about the future.” The Amplified version shows different things the Spirit of God is to us – Comforter, Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby. Wow. When Jesus was leaving, He told the disciple, He would send another Comforter. Which can imply that the role Jesus played before, the Holy Spirit, who is also called the Spirit of Christ, comes to continue that role. Hallelujah. Won’t you fellowship with the Holy Spirit?

Supplementary Text
“And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever – The Spirit of Truth, Whom the world cannot receive (welcome, take to its heart), because it does not see Him or know and recognize Him. But you know and recognize Him, for He lives with you [constantly] and will be in you.” John 14v16-17 (AMP)

Prayer
Father, we thank You so much for Your Word, Your goodness, Your faithfulness and Your Spirit. We are praying to have a deep communion with the Spirit of God each and every day in Jesus name we pray, amen.
