Blessed (2)

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

Primary Text
“May blessing (praise, laudation, and eulogy) be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah) Who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual (given by the Holy Spirit) blessing in the heavenly realm!” Ephesians 1v3 (AMP)

As we look through Scripture, we find many categories of people that God considers to be blessed. For example Jesus preached the sermon on the beatitudes, and a few groups of people that He highlights are the poor in spirit, those who mourn, and those who hunger and thirst after righteousness. Matthew 5v3-6 (AMP) says “Blessed (happy, to be envied, and spiritually prosperous—with life-joy and satisfaction in God’s favor and salvation, regardless of their outward conditions) are the poor in spirit (the humble, who rate themselves insignificant), for theirs is the kingdom of heaven! Blessed and enviably happy [with a happiness produced by the experience of God’s favor and especially conditioned by the revelation of His matchless grace] are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted! Blessed (happy, blithesome, joyous, spiritually prosperous—with life-joy and satisfaction in God’s favor and salvation, regardless of their outward conditions) are the meek (the mild, patient, long-suffering), for they shall inherit the earth! Blessed and fortunate and happy and spiritually prosperous (in that state in which the born-again child of God enjoys His favor and salvation) are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness (uprightness and right standing with God), for they shall be completely satisfied!” Interestingly enough, this might not line up with the world’s definition of a blessed person, but as a child of God you see many benefits for those who are poor in spirit, humble, meek, seeking after the Lord, subject to Him; those who mourn but are yielded to receiving comfort from the God of all comfort; and those who are pursuing and thirsting and hungering after following and doing things in the way of the Lord.

Prayer

Father, we thank You so much for Your Word and we thank You for Your blessings. We pray we would be people who would indeed be poor in spirit, meek and humble, that when we mourn, we would depend on Your comfort and pursue and thirst after righteousness and be blessed in so doing in Jesus name, amen.
