Our Father

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

Primary Text
“Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.” Ephesians 1v2 (KJV)

God is our Father, and a wonderful Father He is. Fathers have lots of responsibilities and God as a Father is One who is a Father indeed. Ephesians 1v3-6 (KJV) tells us “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: According as He hath chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, To the praise of the glory of His grace, wherein He hath made us accepted in the beloved.” We can raise a couple of points from this passage of Scripture. First, the church worships, adores, glorifies and blesses God the Father. He is indeed worthy to be adored, and worthy of all honour. Second, we see that in Christ Jesus He has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places. The Dakes concordance notes that “These blessings are the pure doctrines of the pure gospel, and the full graces and gifts of the Spirit which are necessary in the work of God among men (Rom. 7:14; 1 Cor. 12:1-11; Gal. 5:22).” We see here that these blessings have already been made available to us and not something that we can only partake of in the future. Third, we find too that we have been chosen since the foundation of the world. That means, God knew about you and I a looooong time ago.
