Jesus Christ the Preeminent One

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

Primary Text
“PAUL, an apostle of Jesus Christ …” 1 Timothy 1v1 (KJV)

I listened to a message recently that reminded me that the purpose of God for us is that we should be conformed to the image of Jesus Christ. Sadly, in the church today many times we are holding on to all other things apart from Christ. We do pray in Jesus name and attach at the end that Christ is the center, but are we really making Him the center. Paul called himself an apostle of Jesus Christ. Who are you calling yourself? Colossians 3v4 calls Him our life saying “When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with Him in glory” (KJV). Indeed everything and we all were made by Him, for Him and we consist and exist through Him and in Him. He is the image of the invisible God and is to have the preeminence, most excellent place in everything and in every respect. Lord, take Your place of preeminence in our lives. Romans 8v28-29 (NIV) lets us know that “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose. For those God foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.” God purposes for us to be conformed to the image of His Son. May we seek to know Him and as we do so be conformed to His image, 2 Corinthians 3v18 (AMPC) saying “And all of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from the Lord [Who is] the Spirit].”

Supplementary Text
“[The Father] has delivered and drawn us to Himself out of the control and the dominion of darkness and has transferred us into the kingdom of the Son of His love. In Whom we have our redemption through His blood, [which means] the forgiveness of our sins. [Now] He is the exact likeness of the unseen God [the visible representation of the invisible]; He is the Firstborn of all creation. For it was in Him that all things were created, in heaven and on earth, things seen and things unseen, whether thrones, dominions, rulers, or authorities; all things were created and exist through Him [by His service, intervention] and in and for Him. And He Himself existed before all things, and in Him all things consist (cohere, are held together). [Prov. 8:22-31]. He also is the Head of [His] body, the church; seeing He is the Beginning, the Firstborn from among the dead, so that He alone in everything and in every respect might occupy the chief place [stand first and be preeminent].” Colossians 1v13-18 (AMP)

Prayer
Father, I thank You for Your Word this day. I pray that Lord Jesus You will have the chief place in my life, that You will stand first and be preeminent in me. Let me be conformed to Your image. Let Christ be formed in me, to the glory of God’s name in Jesus name, amen.
