The Gate and the Way

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for the great and precious promises that He has given to us as believers. James 1v17 (The Living Bible) says “But whatever is good and perfect comes to us from God, the Creator of all light, and He shines forever without change or shadow.” God doesn’t change, Jesus being the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13v8). But sometimes it seems that the promises that God has given to us are not coming through. I am reading a book which gave some insight on faith using the illustration of the Gate and the Way.

The Gate represents a crisis of faith, a realization of what we have, the unshakeable assurance of what we have been given. It can be likened to a title deed which tells you that you have been given an inheritance. It is yours. Hebrews 11v1 (Classic Amplified Version) says “Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].” However, the Way is that step by step walk in the assurance of what we have. Even though you have the promise, the enemy will test and tempt you and won’t let you go that easy. Using the illustration of the title deed, it can be likened to you hearing that some tout has decided that the land is his. You have two choices – to accept the lie of the tout or to prove to him that he is wrong.

Beloved, never let your faith stand down. Let the mountain, the situation, the lies stand down, but not your faith, and your confident assurance in God. Hebrews 10v35-37 (New Living Translation) says “So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you! Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that He has promised. “For in just a little while, the Coming One will come and not delay.” Amen.

Prayer
Father, we thank You for Your Word. We thank You for Your precious promises. We pray that we will indeed have that crisis of faith that brings us to the realization of Your promises for our life, and continue to walk in that way and truth in Jesus name, amen.
