Be Being Filled
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this
day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. As children of God, we are
encouraged to be filled, and continue being filled with the Spirit of God. We
see in Acts 4, that though the disciples had received the Spirit of God in Acts
2 on the day of Pentecost, they were again filled with the Spirit in Acts 4
after praying to the Lord for boldness.
How then do we get
refilled with the Spirit of God? We ask for more of Him. Matthew 11v9-13
(Classic Amplified Version) says “So I say to you,
Ask and keep on
asking and it shall be given you; seek and keep on seeking and you shall find; knock and keep on knocking and the
door shall be opened to you. For everyone who asks and keeps on asking receives;
and he who seeks and keeps
on seeking finds; and to him who knocks and keeps on knocking, the door shall be opened. What
father among you, if his son asks for a loaf of bread, will give him a stone; or if he asks for a
fish, will instead of a fish give him a serpent? Or if
he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you then, evil as you
are, know how to give good gifts [gifts that are to their advantage] to
your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to
those who ask and continue
to ask Him!”
God wants to give us more
of His Spirit. One of the things I keep praying for is that I would be led by,
controlled, guided, submissive to, sensitive to and responsive to the Spirit of
God. Galatians 5v16 (Classic Amplified Bible) says “But I say, walk and live [habitually] in the
[Holy] Spirit [responsive to and controlled and guided by the Spirit]; then
you will certainly not gratify the cravings and desires of the flesh (of human nature without God).”
Prayer
Father, we thank You so
much for Your Spirit in us and with us. We pray that we would be habitually and
continually led by, controlled, guided, submissive to, sensitive to and responsive
to the Spirit of God. Holy Spirit, we submit to You. We submit our desires and
our nature, our everything to You. Have Your way in and through us in Jesus name,
amen.
