His Spirit
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the
Lord. One of the beautiful gifts that comes from accepting Christ’s sacrifice
and being a child of God is that we are given the Spirit of Christ. Ephesians
1v13 (The Living Bible) says “And because of what Christ did, all you others
too, who heard the Good News about how to be saved, and trusted Christ, were
marked as belonging to Christ by the Holy Spirit, who long ago had been
promised to all of us Christians.” Romans 8v14-16 (New International Version)
says “For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.
The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that
you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your
adoption to sonship. And by Him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself
testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now
if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if
indeed we share in His sufferings in order that we may also share in His
glory.” Hallelujah.
Isaiah 11v2-3 tells us more of the Spirit of God. Of our Lord
Jesus Christ it was said in that “The Lord’s Spirit will rest on Him — a
Spirit that gives extraordinary wisdom, a Spirit that provides the ability to
execute plans, a Spirit that produces absolute loyalty to the Lord. He
will take delight in obeying the Lord. He will not judge by mere appearances,
or make decisions on the basis of hearsay” (New English Translation). What
wonderful things to be birthed within us. The beautiful thing about God is we
can pray for more of His Spirit. Ah, we
pray now Lord that Your Spirit will be mighty upon us, Your Spirit of wisdom
and of understanding, of counsel and of might, and of the fear of the Lord in
Jesus name, amen.
