The LORD my God
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this
day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for His mercies and the
fact that He is our God. We have no other God but Him and desire none other
beside Him. Deuteronomy 29v5-6 (The Living Bible) says “For forty years God has
led you through the wilderness, yet your clothes haven’t become old, and your
shoes haven’t worn out! The reason He hasn’t let you
settle down to grow grain for bread or grapes for wine and strong drink is so
that you would realize that it is the Lord your God who has been caring for
you.” The Amplified version of verse 6 says “You have not eaten
[grain] bread, nor have you drunk wine or strong drink, that you might
recognize and know
[your dependence on Him Who is saying], I am the Lord your God.”
These verses are very
instructive on how God takes care of His own. Imagine wearing a pair of shoes
every day for a month. After a while the wear and tear becomes quite evident.
But God was able to keep His own for 40 years, without their shoes getting worn
out and their clothes becoming old. They didn’t have any grain or wine to drink
because God was the One taking care of them.
Likewise, God is the One
taking care of us. He is our sustenance. If we quantify all that we consume and
need in monetary terms, it likely won’t add up to how much we actually have
coming in. God is the One that takes care of us. Matthew 6v33-34 (Classic
Amplified Version) says “But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His
kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all
these things taken together will be given you besides. So
do not worry or be
anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will have worries and anxieties of its own.
Sufficient for each day is its own trouble.” God wants us to trust in Him and
rely on Him, day by day, moment by moment.
Prayer
Father, we thank You so
much for this day. We thank You for Your great love and care for us; for
meeting our needs. How wonderful it is to have You as a Father, a Father who
loves and takes care of His own. Help us not to worry about things that we need
but to always seek Your face, Your Kindgom and Your ways of doing things,
knowing You will meet our needs in Jesus name, amen.
