Resurrection (2)
Hello
everyone,
How
are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. 1 Corinthians
15v19-22 (Amplified Bible) tells us that “If we who are [abiding] in Christ
have hope only in this life and that is all, then we are of all people most
miserable and to be pitied. But the fact is that Christ (the Messiah) has been
raised from the dead, and He became the firstfruits of those who have fallen
asleep [in death]. For since [it was] through a man that death [came into the
world, it is] also through a Man that the resurrection of the dead
[has come]. For just as [because of their union of nature] in Adam all people
die, so also [by virtue of their union of nature] shall all in Christ be made
alive.”
Beloved,
imagine if there was no heaven. Imagine if Christ did not rise from the dead.
Paul here is saying that if the hope we have as believers is only in this life,
then we are the most miserable and to be pitied. Which is indeed very true. But
we thank God that this is not the case, for Christ indeed has risen, and we too
will be resurrected. Glory be to God. We have hope for tomorrow, and our
Lord Jesus coming back for us. This affects the way we live as believers. Titus
2v11-13 (New International Version) saying “For the grace of God has appeared
that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness
and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in
this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope – the appearing of the
glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.”
We
thank God for the hope that we have in this world. We thank Him because He will
come back for we His bride. We thank God because we will get to see our loved
ones who have died in Christ. Here is an encouragement from 1 Thessalonians
3v15-18 (New Living Translation): “We tell you this directly from the Lord: We
who are still living when the Lord returns will not meet Him ahead of those who
have died. For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven with a commanding
shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God.
First, the Christians who have died will rise from their graves. Then, together
with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in
the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever.
So encourage each other with these words.”
Prayer
Father
we thank You. We thank You because we know You. We thank You because because Jesus
is resurrected and one day we Your children shall be as well. Thank
You Most High God. We pray You will send labourers into Your vineyard in Jesus
name, amen.
