Hear Him, Obey Him
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this
day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. God speaks and He wants us to
listen. In the past, God spoke in different ways to His people, but He has also
spoken and speaks to us through His Son, and He desires us to hear Him. Hebrews
1v1-5 (New Living Translation) says “Long ago God spoke many times and in many
ways to our ancestors through the prophets. And now in these final days, He has
spoken to us through His Son. God promised everything to the Son as an
inheritance, and through the Son He created the universe. The Son radiates
God’s own glory and expresses the very character of God, and He sustains everything
by the mighty power of His command. When He had cleansed us from our sins, He
sat down in the place of honor at the right hand of the majestic God in heaven. This
shows that the Son is far greater than the angels, just as the name God gave Him
is greater than their names. For
God never said to any angel what He said to Jesus: “You are my Son. Today
I have become Your Father.” God also said, “I will be His Father, and He
will be My Son.”
We are told in Matthew
17v5 (Classic Amplified Version) God saying “While He was still speaking,
behold, a shining cloud [composed of light] overshadowed them, and a voice from
the cloud said, This is My Son, My Beloved, with Whom I am [and have
always been] delighted. Listen to Him!” God will have us listen to us Son and
to hear Him. Martha’s sister did just that: “She had a sister
called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. But
Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to
him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the
work by myself? Tell her to help me!” “Martha, Martha,” the
Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few
things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and
it will not be taken away from her.” (Luke 10v39-42, New International
Version).
Child of God, are you
listening to Jesus. Are you listening to what He has to say and what He would
have you do?
Prayer
Father, we thank You for
Your Word this day. Jesus, we believe in You and we love You. Help us to listen
to what You have to say and not be moved and distracted and worried about
things, in Jesus name, amen.
