His Power (3) – Between the Red Sea and Pharaoh and His Chariots

Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

Primary Text
“According as His divine power…” 2 Peter 2v1 (KJV)

Following from what happened at the Red Sea, something came to mind that even when God is working, and victory is still being cooked, you are protected. Exodus 14v19-20 (NLT) says “Then the angel of God, who had been leading the people of Israel, moved to the rear of the camp. The pillar of cloud also moved from the front and stood behind them. The cloud settled between the Egyptian and Israelite camps. As darkness fell, the cloud turned to fire, lighting up the night. But the Egyptians and Israelites did not approach each other all night.” While the red sea was being parted, there was the angel of God and the pillar of cloud and then of fire between the Israelites and their enemies. The two did not approach each other all night. David said “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies…” (Psalm 23v5, NIV). We have an enemy who goes about as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5v8), and trials and tribulations and situations arise, but the Lord said “I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.].” John 16v33 (AMP). Before Haaman could ask the king for permission to hang Mordecai, the king had already had a sleepless night, and read the account of Mordecai revealing the coup plot, and wanted to favor him that day (see Esther 6). It now makes sense why the Lord will ask the disciples “…Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?” (Mark 4v40), after He had arisen, “and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.” (Mark 4v39). He had told them “Let us pass over unto the other side.” (Mark 4v35). Has God given you a word? Has the wind, and water, and storm begun to arise? Has Pharoah come up behind you? Be at peace. Have faith in God. He has “deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.” Hallleeeeelujah. Peace, be still!

Supplementary Text
“And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will shew you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever. The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.” Exodus 14v13-14 (KJV)
