Be Alert!
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and
bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“Be well balanced (temperate, sober of mind),
be vigilant and cautious at all
times; for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring [in
fierce hunger], seeking someone to seize upon and devour.” 1 Peter 5v8 (AMP)
Beloved, the truth is that we have a very real
adversary, the devil, and he isn’t keeping still. From the Scripture above, we
are told that he is seeking whom he may devour, looking for who will become the
prey. And so what should our response be? 1. We should be sober of mind. Keep
things in proper perspective. 1 Peter 4v7 (NLT) says “The end of the world is
coming soon. Therefore, be earnest and disciplined in your prayers.” 2) Be
vigilant. Stay alert. Be on your guard. The Lord told His 3 disciples at
Gethsemane – “Keep watch and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation.
For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak!” (Matthew 26v41, NLT).
Maintain an attitude of prayer brethren, now more than ever before. Be
sensitive to the Spirit of God. Remain connected to the Lord! When something
even looks slightly out of place, be vigilant and watchful enough to take it up
in prayer, and may you blessed as you do so in Jesus name, amen.
Supplementary Text
“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord,
and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be
able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh
and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of
the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to
withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having
your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of
righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all
the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword
of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and
supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and
supplication for all saints;” Ephesians 6v10-18 (KJV)
Prayer
Father, I thank You for Your Word, and I pray
for the grace to be alert and vigilant more than ever before. Please grant unto
me the spirit of grace and intercession in Jesus name. Thank You Lord for
hearing us and answering us in Jesus name, amen.
