A Partaker of the Divine Nature
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and
bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and
precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature,
having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.” 2 Peter 1v4 (KJV)
From this verse, we see that through the great
and precious promises of God, we get to be partakers or to share in the divine
nature. And I wonder, how does this play out. But then such verses as 1 John
4v4 (KJV) which says “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them:
because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.” And 1 John
3v1-2 (KJV) tells us “BEHOLD, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon
us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us
not, because it knew Him not. Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth
not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when He shall appear, we
shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is.” So we are of God. We have
Christ in us, the hope of glory (Colossians 1v27), we have the Spirit of God in
us and with us (John 14v17); when we receive Jesus and believe on His name, we
are given the power to become sons of God, and are born … “not of blood, nor of
the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God” (John 1v13, KJV), and
if we are in Christ we become new creatures, “… the old [previous moral and
spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!” (2
Corinthians 5v17, AMP). Our lives are hidden with Christ in God (Colossians 3v3).
We are labourers together with and for God (1 Corinthians 3v9), how awesome is
that, and we have His Word, His promises by which we can pray in accordance to
His will and He answers us (1 John 5v14-15). We are able to have communion with
the Holy Spirit (2 Corinthians 13v14). Hallelujah!
Supplementary Text
“But God – so rich
is He in His mercy! Because of and in
order to satisfy the great and
wonderful and intense love with which
He loved us, Even when we were dead (slain) by [our own] shortcomings and trespasses, He made us alive
together in fellowship and in union
with Christ; [He gave us the very life of Christ Himself, the same new life
with which He quickened Him, for] it is by grace (His favor and mercy which you
did not deserve) that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made partakers
of Christ’s salvation). And He raised us up together with Him and made us sit
down together [giving us joint seating with Him] in the heavenly sphere [by
virtue of our being] in Christ Jesus (the Messiah, the Anointed One). He did
this that He might clearly demonstrate through the ages to come the
immeasurable (limitless, surpassing) riches of His free grace (His unmerited
favor) in [His] kindness and goodness
of heart toward us in Christ Jesus.” Ephesians 2v4-7 (AMP)
Prayer
Our heavenly Father, we thank You so very much
for today and for making us a partaker of Your divine nature. Father we pray
for a greater revelation of what this means in Jesus name, amen.
