Be Firm in Faith!!!
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and
bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“Withstand him; be firm in faith [against his
onset – rooted, established, strong, immovable, and determined],....” 1 Peter
5v9 (AMP)
“Whom resist stedfast in the faith,…” 1 Peter
5v9 (KJV)
In addition to resisting and withstanding the
devil, we are told to do this, being firm in our faith. Be strong in faith.
Romans 10v17 (KJV) says “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the
word of God.” As a believer, it is invaluable to read, study, memorize, and
meditate upon Scripture, and also to pray. Your faith is built up when you
increase in your knowledge of who the God you serve is, what He likes,
dislikes, His power, might, authority, holiness, righteousness, … and read
about the men and women of faith that have gone on before us. In fact, Hebrews
11v6 (KJV) says “But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that
cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that
diligently seek Him.” Have faith in God (Mark 11v22). Moreover, Ephesians
6v16-17 (AMP) reminds us of the importance of faith in the battle we are in,
saying “Lift up over all the [covering] shield of saving faith, upon which you
can quench all the flaming missiles of the wicked [one]. And take the helmet of
salvation and the sword that the Spirit wields, which is the Word of God.” Hallelujah! Jude 1v20 (AMP) tells us
“But you, beloved, build yourselves up [founded] on your most holy faith [make
progress rise like an edifice higher and higher], praying in the Holy Spirit;”
Continue in prayer, and build up your faith. Remember David who encouraged and
strengthened himself in the Lord when he was faced with a tough situation (see
1 Samuel 30v6), and it is said of Abraham:
Supplementary Text
“And being not weak in faith, he considered
not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet
the deadness of Sarah’s womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through
unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully
persuaded that, what He had promised, He was able also to perform.” Romans
4v19-21 (KJV)
Prayer
Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your Word,
and the illumination it brings. We pray for a fresh filling of Your Spirit, for
included in the fruit of the Spirit is faith. We pray for the Spirit of wisdom
and revelation in the knowledge of You, that we may know You more. And we pray
that we will indeed build up ourselves on our most holy faith. For as many as
are not filled with the Spirit of God, we pray that You fill them up in Jesus
name, amen. Thank You Abba Father, for we pray believing that You have heard us
and answered us in Jesus name, amen.
