A choice

Hello everyone,

How are you doing? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for His goodness, faithfulness, loving kindness and tender mercies.

Primary Text
“And each one of them [allowed himself also] to be baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea [they were thus brought under obligation to the Law, to Moses, and to the covenant, consecrated and set apart to the Service of God];” 1 Corinthians 10v2 (AMP)

One commentary says – “Israel’s experience is called a baptism in the sea… The baptism was in the cloud and in the sea in the same sense of baptism in water and in the Holy Ghost. (Mt 3:11).” Each one of them allowed himself …. Just as each one of us had to make up our minds – if we had – to become children of God. We are not saved because our parents were saved, or because we go to church. Not at all. We have to make the decision for ourselves. Romans 10v8-10 (AMP) saying “But what does it say? The Word (God’s message in Christ) is near you, on your lips and in your heart; that is, the Word (the message, the basis and object) of faith which we preach, Because if you acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and in your heart believe (adhere to, trust in, and rely on the truth) that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart a person believes (adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Christ) and so is justified (declared righteous, acceptable to God), and with the mouth he confesses (declares openly and speaks out freely his faith) and confirms [his] salvation.” When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Saviour, we are given the Spirit of God, who is also called the Spirit of Christ for “… if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of His.” (Romans 8v9, KJV).

 Supplementary Text
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10v13 (KJV)

Prayer
Heavenly Father, we thank You so much for the salvation of our souls. Thank You for giving us Your Spirit to dwell with us and be in us. We thank You and honour You for the priviledge of being called Your children. All this we pray in Jesus name, amen.
