Run to win!

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

“Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain?” 1 Corinthians 9v24 (KJV)

“Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize?” 1 Corinthians 9v24 (NIV)

“Don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win!” 1 Corinthians 9v24 (NLT)

In a race, in order to get the prize, you must avoid being disqualified. Some are disqualified at the beginning of the race because they jump the gun. Some are disqualified from running during the race because of actions they carried out before the race itself that might give them an unfair advantage over the others. In order to run to get the prize, it takes preparation – training, knowing one’s opponents, knowing the rules of the game, not giving up during the race, observing how those who have succeeded before have done it, and being focused during the race. Running to win also requires determination, and a desire to want to win. In this race of life, how are you running?

Prayer

Father, I thank You for Your Word. I thank You for this race we are running. Father, please grant us the grace to run it to the end, and to run to win in Jesus name, amen.
