Do
Hello
everyone,
How
are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“Be
ye doers of the Word [obey the message], and not merely listeners to it,
betraying yourselves [into deception by reasoning contrary to the Truth].”
James 1v22 (AMP)
It
is great to hear, read, study, memorize and meditate on scripture, but it is
absolutely necessary to be doers of the Word; walking in the light of what we
have heard. Luke 11:28 (AMP) says “But He said, Blessed (happy and to be
envied) rather are those who hear the Word of God and obey and practice it!” Are
you a doer of the Word of God? What is your reaction to what you hear about the
Word of God? Do you put it into practice or do you argue over it. Do you hide
from the truth? Is the Word of God profitable to you or do you hear or read it,
and think of someone else who needs to be changed by it?
Supplementary Text
“”This
is its meaning: The seed is God’s message to men. The hard path where some seed
fell represents the hard hearts of those who hear the words of God, but then
the devil comes and steals the words away and prevents people from believing
and being saved. The stony ground represents those who enjoy listening to
sermons, but somehow the message never really gets through to them and doesn’t
take root and grow. They know the message is true, and sort of believe for a
while; but when the hot winds of persecution blow, they lose interest. The seed
among the thorns represents those who listen and believe God’s words but whose
faith afterwards is choked out by worry and riches and the responsibilities and
pleasures of life. And so they are never able to help anyone else to believe
the Good News. “But the good soil represents honest, good-hearted people. They
listen to God’s words and cling to them and steadily spread them to others who
also soon believe.” Luke 8v11-15 (TLB)
Prayer
Father,
thank You for Your Word. Please help me to be a hearer and a doer of it. Help
the Word to bring forth much fruit in my life in Jesus name, amen.
