Sin: A dead relationship
Hello
everyone,
How
are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“And
hereby do we know that we know Him…” 1 John 2v3 (KJV)
We
thank God for the cleansing of sins that we receive from the blood of Jesus.
One way in which we know that we know God is that our sins are cleansed. 1 John
1v7-9 (TLB) says “But if we are living in the light of God’s presence, just as
Christ does, then we have wonderful fellowship and joy with each other, and the
blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from every sin. If we say that we have no
sin, we are only fooling ourselves and refusing to accept the truth. But if we
confess our sins to Him, He can be depended on to forgive us and to cleanse us
from every wrong. And it is perfectly proper for God to do this for us because
Christ died to wash away our sins.” Thank God because He is faithful and He is
just. Thank God because when we confess our sins and don’t hide them He
forgives us. Jesus came to take away our sins, though in Him was no sin (1 John
3v5). However, as believers we do not continue in sin. Romans 6v1-2 (AMP)
saying “What shall we say [to all this]? Are we to remain in sin in order that
God’s grace (favor and mercy) may multiply and overflow? Certainly not! How can
we who died to sin live in it any longer?” Beloved, quit living with a sin
mentality thinking you cannot be helped. Sin is no longer your master. Romans
6v11 (AMP) says “Even so consider yourselves also dead to sin and your relation
to it broken, but alive to God [living in unbroken fellowship with Him] in
Christ Jesus.”
Supplementary Text
“Whosoever
abideth in Him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen Him, neither known
Him…Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for His seed remaineth in
him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.” 1 John 3v6,9 (KJV)
Prayer
Father,
I thank You because I know You and the seed of God remains in me, so I cannot
sin. Father, the grace to continually abide in Christ, for those who abide in
Him do not sin, please grant unto me in Jesus name, amen.
