Hear

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

Primary Text

“Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.” Proverbs 8v34 (KJV)

Beloved, there is a blessing that comes from hearing the Word of God…. and doing it. Revelation 1v3 (NIV) says “Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.” In the last days however, people will begin to have itchy ears – ears that want to hear what they want to hear. They become unable to endure sound doctrine. 2 Timothy 4v3-4 (TLB) says “For there is going to come a time when people won’t listen to the truth but will go around looking for teachers who will tell them just what they want to hear. They won’t listen to what the Bible says but will blithely follow their own misguided ideas.” Child of God, what category of people do you fall into? Do you listen, seek out, and desire the Word of God, or are you looking for those who would tell you what you want to hear? Remember, you are blessed if you are a hearer and a doer of the Word of God.

“In them indeed is the process of fulfillment of the prophecy of Isaiah, which says: You shall indeed hear and hear but never grasp and understand; and you shall indeed look and look but never see and perceive. For this nation’s heart has grown gross (fat and dull), and their ears heavy and difficult of hearing, and their eyes they have tightly closed, lest they see and perceive with their eyes, and hear and comprehend the sense with their ears, and grasp and understand with their heart, and turn and I should heal them. But blessed (happy, fortunate, and to be envied) are your eyes because they do see, and your ears because they do hear.” Matthew 13v14-16 (AMP)

Prayer

Father, I thank You for Your Word. Father I pray that You will give me eyes that truly see and ears that truly hear in Jesus name, amen.
