Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego (The Situation)

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for His grace, His mercy and His love for us. We thank Him for calling us to be His own, and that we are on the winning side. Now, when Jesus was leaving, He told us that in the world we will have tribulations, but we should be of good cheer because He has overcome the world (John 16v33). Now sometimes, we may face big tribulations, sometimes little ones, some may be persistent, some for a moment, but in all of this we can still be of good cheer, because Jesus has overcome the world, and the Greater One lives on the inside of us (1 John 4v4). Over the next few days, we would look at Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, 3 Hebrew children who were taken as slaves to Babylon, who faced an immense trial. These children served God, but then there was a time when the king made a graven image and a declaration was made:

“That at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up:

And whoso falleth not down and worshippeth shall the same hour be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.

Therefore at that time, when all the people heard the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and all kinds of musick, all the people, the nations, and the languages, fell down and worshipped the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.” Daniel 3v5-7

Thus was the situation in which the 3 Hebrew children found themselves. What were they to do? Everyone else around, from all nations, and languages were bowing down. Besides, if they did not do it, they would be thrown into the burning fire. Serious repercussions like death. What do you do when you are faced with a trial?
Remember, our God reigns.

Have a very blessed day.
