Prayers for the New Year
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. Grace and peace be multiplied unto you in Jesus name, amen. The Bible encourages us to pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5v17). Here are some prayer points that I prayed in church for the New Year, thanks to one of my pastors. They are timely and on point for anyone who is really looking to walk with God in this New Year, as I hope we are all looking to do.
1. Father in the name of Jesus, I invite you specially to come and reign in every aspect of my life – spiritually, physically, materially, financially, emotionally…
• A lot of the times we have accepted Jesus as our Lord and personal Saviour, but we do not allow Him to be the Master, neither do we allow Him to be Lord in our lives. However, He won’t force us either. Revelations 3v20 speaks of Jesus standing at the door and knocking and anyone that opens up to Him, He will come and sup with him, and he with Him. This prayer is asking Him to be the Lord, to take control and be in charge of every area of our lives. It is asking for an interaction in which you learn His ways of doing things. Just like the Bible tells us in Proverbs 3v5-6 that:
“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thine ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3v5-6
“I BESEECH you therefore brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God.” Romans 12v1-2
Allow yourself to be conformed to God’s way of doing things.
2. Father, in this New Year, may I receive divine instruction and spiritual guidance, that I will not walk in error this year in the name of Jesus.
