My Inclination!

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. Beloved, the master you serve will determine your actions, allegiance, and attitudes. Even if you were a spy in a foreign country, your allegiance is still to your home country, and your actions are geared towards serving their interests. So it is with God. If God is the God you are serving, it will show in your actions. And if it is money, it will show as well. Who are you serving?

Primary Text: Psalm 119v36
“Incline my heart unto Thy testimonies, and not to covetousness.” Psalm 119v36

“Incline my heart to Your testimonies and not to covetousness (robbery, sensuality, unworthy riches.” Psalm 119v36 (AMP)

“Give me an eagerness for Your laws rather than a love for money!” Psalm 119v36 (NLT)

“Turn my heart toward Your statutes and not toward selfish gain.” Psalm 119v36 (NIV)

“Make me want to keep Your rules instead of wishing for riches.” Psalm 119v36 (NCV)

Once, there was a question for discussion that read: “How do we maintain our fire and faith while living in an affluent society?” The reference text was the church in Laodiceans in Revelations 3. How do we do this? True, the Bible says that money answereth all things (Ecclesiastes 10v19), but it also warns us that the love of money is the root of all evil (1 Timothy 6v10). Matthew 6 tells us well that “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you”( Matthew 6v33).

Supplementary Text
“No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money. “That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life – whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to Him than they are? Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? “And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, He will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith? “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need. “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.” Matthew 6v19-34 (NLT)

“I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I counsel thee to buy of Me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.” Revelations 3v15-18 (KJV)

“For the love of money is a root of all evils; it is through this craving that some have been led astray and have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves through with many acute [mental] pangs.” 1 Timothy 6v10 (AMP)

Prayer
Father, I thank You for Your Word, and I pray that You incline my heart unto Thy testimonies and not unto covetousness in Jesus name, amen.
