Give Thanks
Hello everyone,
How are you doing today? I hope well and
bubbling in the Lord. Happy Thanksgiving y’all J
Primary Text
“Thank [God] in everything [no matter what the
circumstances may be, be thankful and give thanks], for this is the will of God
for you [who are] in Christ Jesus [the Revealer and Mediator of that will].” 1
Thessalonians 5v18 (AMP)
Give thanks to God, glorify His holy name, He
is worthy of our praise. Give thanks when things are good, and when not so good.
The Psalmist writes, “Let all that I am praise the LORD; with my whole heart, I
will praise His holy name. Let all that I am praise the LORD; may I never
forget the good things He does for me. He forgives all my sins and heals all my
diseases. He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies.
He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagles. The
LORD gives righteousness and justice to all who are treated unfairly.” Psalm
103v1-6 (NLT). Are you wondering about God’s will in what you are going through
now, well one thing is to give thanks. Child of God, do not forget all the good
things God does for you. Psalm 95v1-3 (KJV) says “O come, let us sing unto the
LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before
His presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto Him with psalms.
For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods.” Hallelujah!!! It
is good to always have an attitude of gratitude. Many times we easily forget
what God has done for us or is presently doing for us, because we are looking
so much on what we do not yet have or are enjoying so much what we have
received that we forget the Giver. Even amongst ourselves it is good to express
gratitude when others do things for us. Let us cultivate the attitude of
gratitude and praise – “Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the
Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;” (Ephesians 5v20, KJV).
Supplementary Text
“And let the peace (soul harmony which comes) from Christ rule (act as
umpire continually) in your hearts [deciding and settling with finality all
questions that arise in your minds, in that peaceful state] to which as
[members of Christ’s] one body you were also called [to live]. And be thankful
(appreciative), [giving praise to God always].” Colossians 3v15 (AMP)
