Entangled again and overcome

Hello everyone,

How are you doing today? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

Primary Text
“For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through [the full, personal] knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they again become entangled in them and are overcome, their last condition is worse [for them] than the first. For never to have obtained a [full, personal] knowledge of the way of righteousness would have been better for them than, having obtained [such knowledge], to turn back from the holy commandment which was [verbally] delivered to them. There has befallen them the thing spoken of in the true proverb, The dog turns back to his own vomit, and, The sow is washed only to wallow again in the mire.” 2 Peter 2v20-22 (AMP)

Wow. The Scripture here describes the situation of someone who had come to the full and personal knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, but for some reason, they became entangled and enslaved by sin again (2 Peter 2v20, NLT). The Scripture says it is better they had never known the way of righteousness, than to know it and then turn back. May we never turn back from following the Lord in Jesus name, amen. Hebrews 10v26-27 (NIV) says “If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.” Child of God – be encouraged, remain in the Lord, abide in Him, and keep your trust in Him. 2 Corinthians 4v17 (NIV) says “For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.” Regardless of what you feel or see or understand or not understand, don’t draw back, don’t try to see the limits of how much you can do before “really” sinning. “Fight the good fight of faith…” (1 Timothy 6v12, NIV), Hebrews 10v38 (AMP) telling us that “But the just shall live by faith [My righteous servant shall live by his conviction respecting man’s relationship to God and divine things, and holy fervor born of faith and conjoined with it]; and if he draws back and shrinks in fear, My soul has no delight or pleasure in him.”

Supplementary Text
“For it is impossible [to restore and bring again to repentance] those who have been once for all enlightened, who have consciously tasted the heavenly gift and have become sharers of the Holy Spirit, And have felt how good the Word of God is and the mighty powers of the age and world to come, If they then deviate from the faith and turn away from their allegiance – [it is impossible] to bring them back to repentance, for (because, while, as long as) they nail upon the cross the Son of God afresh [as far as they are concerned] and are holding [Him] up to contempt and shame and public disgrace.” Hebrews 6v4-6 (AMP)

Prayer
Father, we thank You so much for Your Word. Father, please keep me in Your forever, in Jesus name, amen.
