His patience!

Hello everyone,

How are you doing today? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

Primary Text
“The Lord does not delay and is not tardy or slow about what He promises, according to some people’s conception of slowness, but He is long-suffering (extraordinarily patient) toward you, not desiring that any should perish, but that all should turn to repentance.” 2 Peter 3v9 (AMP)

“The Lord isn’t really being slow about His promise, as some people think. No, He is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.” 2 Peter 3v9 (NLT)

This is one verse I truly like. Our God is so awesome. It is a reminder of His love for the world, that He doesn’t want anyone to perish, but all to come to repentance. There are so many who still do not have a relationship with the Lord and haven’t accepted Jesus as their Lord and personal Saviour. Some are people we know - friends, family, acquaintances, loved ones, class mates, colleagues. Imagine if God were to give the word for the return of Jesus, and for judgment to come at this point, what would happen to them all? And so it’s not that God is being slow about His promise, but for our sakes He is being patient, He is not willing that anyone should perish. John 3v16 (KJV) telling us “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Is there someone/people you are interceding and believing God for their salvation? Keep praying, believing, loving, and holding on. The heart of God is not that they or any should perish, but all should come to repentance.

Supplementary Text
“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people – for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all people. This has now been witnessed to at the proper time.” 1 Timothy 2v1-6 (NIV)

Prayer
Father, we thank You so much for Your Word. Father, we thank You and appreciate Your patience. Father, we pray Lord of the harvest that You will send out laborers into Your harvest, for the harvest indeed is plenteous, but the laborers are few, in Jesus name, amen.
