Do Good

Hello everyone,
How are you doing today? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

Primary Text
“See that none of you repays another with evil for evil, but always aim to show kindness and seek to do good to one another and to everybody.” 1 Thessalonians 5v15 (AMP)

“Look for the best in each other, and always do your best to bring it out.” 1 Thessalonians 5v15 (MSG)

If someone does something wrong, or evil towards us, the natural inclination is to want to “get them back” or want to see something happen that would prove that they were wrong and we are right! But that’s not the way God would have us act. He says do not repay evil for evil, wrong for wrong, but strive, aim to show kindness and good to one another, and to everybody – yup including those who are not believers. I don’t know who said this that two wrongs don’t make a right. One website records: "Two wrongs don't make a right" means that it is never right to wrong someone, even if they have wronged you first. Their "wrong" plus your "wrong" together would not make a "right." Example: "That boy pushed me yesterday and I am going to get him back today!" Answer: "No you are not! Two wrongs do not make a right." Sometimes, when you have been wronged, you want to wrong that person back to make things "right"; but "two wrongs don't make a right" says that it is always "wrong" to answer one "wrong" with another "wrong." Example: "I don't want anyone on our team getting in a fight on the field today, even if the other person has fouled you first. Two wrongs do not make a right." (http://www.goenglish.com/TwoWrongsDontMakeARight.asp). 1 Peter 3v9 (AMP) says “Never return evil for evil or insult for insult (scolding, tongue-lashing, berating), but on the contrary blessing [praying for their welfare, happiness, and protection, and truly pitying and loving them]. For know that to this you have been called, that you may yourselves inherit a blessing [from God – that you may obtain a blessing as heirs, bringing welfare and happiness and protection].” Amen.

Supplementary Text
“You have heard that it was said, You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy; But I tell you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, To show that you are the children of your Father Who is in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the wicked and on the good, and makes the rain fall upon the upright and the wrongdoers [alike]. For if you love those who love you, what reward can you have? Do not even the tax collectors do that? And if you greet only your brethren, what more than others are you doing? Do not even Gentiles (the heathen) do that? You, therefore, must be perfect [growing into complete maturity of godliness in mind and character, having reached the proper height of virtue and integrity], as your heavenly Father is perfect.” Matthew 5v43-48 (AMP)

Prayer
Father, we thank You for You for Your Word. Father, we thank You for the access we have to Your throne of grace. We pray that You will grant us the grace to do good only, in Jesus name, amen.
