The Lord’s patience = Salvation
Hello everyone,
How are you doing today? I hope well and
bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“And remember, our Lord’s patience gives
people time to be saved. This is what our beloved brother Paul also wrote to
you with the wisdom God gave him –“ 2 Peter 3v15 (NLT)
Amen. This verse encourages us to remember something
about the Lord’s patience, and recognize it for what it is – salvation.
Earlier, he had written: “The Lord does not delay and is not tardy or slow
about what He promises, according to some people’s conception of slowness, but
He is long-suffering (extraordinarily patient) toward you, not desiring that
any should perish, but that all should turn to repentance.” 2 Peter 3v9 (AMP).
We thank God so much that this is His heart towards all people, for we can keep
believing and praying for our friends, colleagues, loved ones to give their
lives to Christ. Romans 2v4 (NIV) saying “Or do you show contempt for the
riches of His kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s
kindness in intended to lead you to repentance.” And so now, we are God’s ambassadors, telling others about
Him.
Supplementary Text
“But all things are from God, Who through Jesus Christ reconciled us to Himself [received us into favor,
brought us into harmony with Himself] and gave to us the ministry of
reconciliation [that by word and deed we might aim to bring others into harmony
with Him]. It was God [personally present] in Christ, reconciling and restoring the world to favor with
Himself, not counting up and holding
against [men] their trespasses [but cancelling them], and committing to us the
message of reconciliation (of the restoration to favor). So we are Christ’s
ambassadors, God making His appeal as it were through us. We [as Christ’s
personal representatives] beg you for His sake to lay hold of the divine favor
[now offered you] and be reconciled
to God. For our sake He made Christ [virtually] to be sin Who knew no sin, so
that in and through Him we might become
[endued with, viewed as being in, and examples of] the righteousness of God
[what we ought to be, approved and acceptable and in right relationship with
Him, by His goodness].” 2 Corinthians 5v18-21 (AMP)
Prayer
Father, we bless You, we thank You for Your
Word. We pray o God, that You will help us to be steadfast and true ambassadors
of Christ, in tune with Your will and always with true allegiance to You in
Jesus name, amen.
