Why forget (3)
Hello everyone,
How are you doing today? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“The current galaxies and earth are fuel for the final fire. God
is poised, ready to speak His word again, ready to give the signal for the
judgment and destruction of the desecrating skeptics.” 2 Peter 3v7 (MSG)
The Word of the Lord is here speaking to the scoffers that are
to rise in the last days, who walk after their fleshly desires, “And say, Where
is the promise of His coming? For since the forefathers fell asleep, all things
have continued exactly as they did from the beginning of creation” 2 Peter 3v4
(AMP). The Bible says, “But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s
word the heavens came into being and the earth was formed out of water and by
water. By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed.”
(2 Peter 3v5-6, NIV). The Bible then tells us in verse 7 (NIV) that “By the
same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for
the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.” 2 Peter 3v7 (NIV). So much
has happened in the world before, and more is still to come. Scoffers, amend
your ways. Our God is longsuffering and patient, yet, Hebrews 9v27-28 (AMP)
says “And just as it is appointed for [all] men once to die, and after that the
[certain] judgment, Even so it is that Christ, having been offered to take upon
Himself and bear as a burden the sins
of many once and once for all, will
appear a second time, not to carry any burden of sin nor to deal with sin, but to bring to full salvation those who are
[eagerly, constantly, and patiently] waiting for and expecting Him.” Are you expecting Him or are you making a
mockery of the day of the Lord? Is your love waxing cold?
Supplementary Text
“Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your
hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God
and the world. Let there be tears for what you have done. Let there be sorrow
and deep grief. Let there be sadness instead of laughter, and gloom instead of
joy. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up in honor.”
James 4v8-10 (NLT)
Prayer
Father, we thank You so much for Your Word. Father, help us to
remain rapturable in Jesus name, amen.
