Recall
Hello everyone,
How are you doing today? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“I want you to recall the words spoken in the past by the holy prophets
and the command given by our Lord and Savior through your apostles.” 2 Peter
3v2 (NIV)
Peter here encourages the believers to whom he was writing to recall the
words spoken in the past by the prophets and the command given by our Lord and
Saviour Jesus Christ through the apostles. Hebrews 1v1-2 (AMP) tells us “In
many separate revelations [each of which set forth a portion of the Truth] and
in different ways God spoke of old to [our] forefathers in and by the
prophets, [But] in the last of these days He has spoken to us in [the person of
a] Son, Whom He appointed Heir and lawful Owner of all things, also by and
through Whom He created the worlds and the reaches of space and
the ages of time [He made, produced, built, operated, and arranged them in
order].” Hallelujah. God speaks, and the Word says in 2 Timothy 3v14-17 (NLT)
that “But you must remain faithful to the things you have been taught. You know
they are true, for you know you can trust those who taught you. You have been
taught the holy Scriptures from childhood, and they have given you the wisdom
to receive the salvation that comes by trusting in Christ Jesus. All Scripture
is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us
realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and
teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip His people to
do every good work.”
Supplementary Text
“This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall
meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do according to
all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and
then you shall deal wisely and have good success. Have not I commanded
you? Be strong, vigorous, and very courageous. Be not afraid, neither be
dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1v8-9 (AMP).
Prayer
Father, we thank You so much for Your Word. Our God, the glorious Father
of our Lord Jesus Christ we pray that You will give us spiritual wisdom and
insight that we might grow in the knowledge of God, in Jesus name, amen. [see
Ephesians 1v17, NLT]
