Pray for all men and those in authority
Hello
everyone,
How
are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.
Primary Text
“First
of all, then, I admonish and urge that petitions, prayers,
intercessions, and thanksgivings be offered on behalf of all men, For kings and all who are in positions of authority or
high responsibility, that [outwardly] we may pass a quiet and
undisturbed life [and inwardly] a peaceable one in all godliness and
reverence and seriousness in every way. For such [praying] is good and
right, and [it is] pleasing and acceptable to God our Savior, Who wishes
all men to be saved and [increasingly] to perceive and recognize and
discern and know precisely and correctly the [divine] Truth.” 1
Timothy 2v1-4 (AMP)
One
thing that God will have us do is to pray for others. As we see in the verses
above, this is pleasing and acceptable to God. He will have us pray for all men
and those in authority. One thing worth noting here is that we should be
praying for others so that we can live a quiet and peaceable life. In Jeremiah
29v7 (KJV), the Almighty God explicitly told His people “And
seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away
captives, and pray unto the Lord for it: for
in the peace thereof shall ye have peace.” Do you desire a peaceable and
quiet life? Begin to pray for all men and those in authority. We can take our
place as kings and priests unto the Lord to begin to exact the change that we
want to see on earth, in our place of work, in our homes e.t.c. We can and
should pray for the Kingdom of God to come and His will be done. We see also
that God will have all men come to salvation – and we can thus pray for them,
that the light of the Gospel will shine through to them. And so, we can pray
for our colleagues, our bosses, our co-workers, our friends, family members,
everyone that falls under the category of men. That is pleasing to the Lord.
Prayer
Our Lord and our God, we thank You so much
for Your Word this day. We thank You that it is pleasing to You when we pray
for others and those in authority. We ask for the Spirit of grace and
supplication to fall mightily upon us to be able to do this. We thank You
because Jesus You are our Intercessor, praying for us. We join You in this work
and pray precious Holy Spirit that You will indeed pray through us and guide us
on what to pray for, for those around us, those far from us, all saints, all
men and those in authority. We pray that through this, Your Kingdom will come
and Your will, will be done on earth in Jesus name, amen.
