Sealed

Hello everyone,

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

Primary Text
And because of what Christ did, all you others too, who heard the Good News about how to be saved, and trusted Christ, were marked as belonging to Christ by the Holy Spirit, who long ago had been promised to all of us Christians. His presence within us is God’s guarantee that He really will give us all that He promised; and the Spirit’s seal upon us means that God has already purchased us and that He guarantees to bring us to Himself. This is just one more reason for us to praise our glorious God.” Ephesians 1v13-14 (TLB)

“In Him you also who have heard the Word of Truth, the glad tidings (Gospel) of your salvation, and have believed in and adhered to and relied on Him, were stamped with the seal of the long-promised Holy Spirit. That [Spirit] is the guarantee of our inheritance [the firstfruits, the pledge and foretaste, the down payment on our heritage], in anticipation of its full redemption and our acquiring [complete] possession of it—to the praise of His glory.” Ephesians 1v13-14 (AMP)

When a child is born, he or she is named and given a birth certificate. On the certificate the name and identity of the child is put down and that of the mother and father. As children of God we belong to God, we have been born of God, and we are sealed with the Spirit of God. The Holy Spirit is the confirmation given to us that we belong to Christ. Hallelujah. He sets and marks us apart as being for God. Indeed, Romans 8v9 (NIV) says “You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ.” Interestingly as well, 1 Corinthians 12v3 (KJV) notes that “Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.” Thank God for His Spirit within us. The Holy Spirit helps us to live a victorious Christian life. Moreover, He is with us and in us constantly; John 16v17 (AMP) saying “The Spirit of Truth, Whom the world cannot receive (welcome, take to its heart), because it does not see Him or know and recognize Him. But you know and recognize Him, for He lives with you [constantly] and will be in you.”

Prayer
Father, we thank You and honour and praise You for Your Spirit with us and within us that sets us apart and seals us for You. Father, may we truly enjoy the fellowship of the Holy Spirit in Jesus name, amen.
