Holy God

How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord.

Primary Text

“And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.” Revelation 4v8 (KJV)

One of the attributes of the Almighty God that is proclaimed in heaven is holy. Our God is holy. 1 Peter 1v15 (KJV) says “But as He which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;” One definition of holy says “having a spiritually pure character” (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/holy?s=t). I recently got some insight into this attribute of God. Imagine for a minute if God wasn’t holy. What a fix we would be in! It would mean that He changes, He would be fickle, He won’t be faithful or dependable. It would mean what He says today – My son or My daughter I love you and I want to bless you. Come tomorrow and partake of My goodness. If God wasn’t holy, if you go the next day, He can pretend not to know you or understand what you are talking about. Thank God though that He is holy. It is proclaimed in the heavens and we see the reality of it here on earth. He is dependable, He is faithful, we can take Him at His Word. Hallelujah.

Prayer

Our Father and our God we honour You. We love You. We adore You. Thank You for Your holiness. We reverence You. How refreshing it is that You are holy. Thank You that You are not like man, You are holy. Your Word is true. Your ways are perfect, God of faithfulness, without injustice, good and upright are You.
