A good minister
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. Isn’t it wonderful that we can pray to God at all times? With all kinds of prayer? And that He cares for us? Ever wondered what it takes to be a good minister of Jesus Christ? Well Paul tells Timothy in 1 Timothy 4v6 that:
“If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.”
What are these things? Well, Paul had spoken to Timothy in the earlier verses of 1 Timothy 4v1-5, of those who would depart from the faith and give heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their conscience seared with a hot iron. Some of the teachings that would be perpetuated will be those that forbade people to marry, and to abstain from certain foods. Now, you can imagine what this sort of teachings can do to a body of believers. It could bring a lot of confusion, and strife, and malice in fact, as people begin to look down on those who do it, versus those who do not, or those who even bring these foods to share.
But Paul writes to Timothy that he would be a good minister of Jesus Christ, if he reminded the believers of these things, that they were the doctrines of devils, and that these foods God created to be eaten with thanks by faithful people who know the truth. Again, everything God created was good, and nothing to be refused if received with thanksgiving. He says that:
“If you point these things out to the brothers, you will be a good minister of Christ Jesus, brought up in the truths of the faith and of the good teaching that you have followed.” 1 Timothy 4v6 (NIV)
So that’s what makes a good minister of Christ Jesus … Beloved, there are some things that appear to be truths. Brethren, check the Scripture, and may the good Lord continue to reveal Himself to us in a mighty way in Jesus name, amen. God the Holy Spirit is dwelling with us and is in us (John 14v17), and He is here to guide you into all truth (John 16v13).

P.S: A bomb went off in a market in Pakistan today, by a suicide bomber. Can we pray for every potential suicide bomber and their families, that the message of the gospel will reach them and that they will be filled with the love of God and come to a personal relationship with the Lord, in Jesus name, amen.
