Heavenly-Minded

Hello everyone,

How are you today? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. Jesus said that in His Father’s house are many mansions, and He was going to prepare a place for us (John 14v2). Do you live with the expectation that Jesus is coming soon? Or does the way you act and think reflect someone who has neither the fear of God, nor the expectation of heaven, nor the fear of hell?

Primary Text:
“Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning; And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately.” Luke 12v35-36 (KJV)

Perhaps, you are not committing “sin” but are like the servant who had one talent and buried it in the ground (Matthew 25v14-30). Or perhaps, you are luke warm, neither here nor there, thinking at least, I am saved, and God understands (Revelation 3v16). Let us consider our ways and check our own selves. Are we telling others about Jesus? Are we winning souls to the glory of His name? Are we being obedient to Him – remember, those who love Him are those who do His commandments. Do we love our brethren – or are we thinking our faith, our giving, and speaking in the tongues of men and angels suffices (1 Corinthians 13v1-2). Are you in love with the world? Remember friendship with the world is enmity with God (James 4v4). Are you ashamed of Jesus before men? Then He in turn will be ashamed of you when He comes in glory (Luke 9v26). “Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.” (Luke 12v40)

Supplementary Text
“If they had been thinking with [homesick] remembrance of that country from which they were emigrants, they would have found constant opportunity to return to it. But the truth is that they were yearning for and aspiring to a better and more desirable country, that is, a heavenly [one]. For that reason God is not ashamed to be called their God [even to be surnamed their God- the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob], for He has prepared a city for them.” Hebrews 11v15-16 (AMP)

Father, help me to please You in every way in Jesus name, amen.

  1. The greatest of christians desire should be that country where we came from (heaven). May the grace of God be sufficient for us to get there. (Amen).
