Forgiveness!

Hello everyone,

How are you today? I hope well and bubbling in the Lord. We thank God for the forgiveness of sins He gives to us. The Bible says:

Primary Text: 1 John 1v9-10
“If we say we have no sin [refusing to admit that we are sinners], we delude and lead ourselves astray, and the Truth [which the Gospel presents] is not in us [does not dwell in our hearts]. If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just (true to His own nature and promises) and will forgive our sins [dismiss our lawlessness] and [continuously] cleanse us from all unrighteousness [everything not in conformity to His will in purpose, thought, and action].” 1 John 1v9-10 (AMP)

This is the starting point for us all, acknowledging that we “have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” But God loved us so much, that Jesus was sent to the world that “whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3v16). For as many as believe in Him, accept the truth of the gospel, and admit that they are sinners and confess their sins, God is faithful and just to forgive them from their sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. The blood of Jesus is so powerful that He washes away all our sins (Revelations 1v5). Even as believers, when we do sin, we can come to the Lord and confess our sins, knowing that we have an advocate in Jesus, who pleads our case before the Father (1 John 2v1-2). Hallelujah for His mercies!

Supplementary Text
“In those days you were living apart from Christ. You were excluded from citizenship among the people of Israel, and you did not know the covenant promises God had made to them. You lived in this world without God and without hope. But now you have been united with Christ Jesus. Once you were far away from God, but now you have been brought near to Him through the blood of Christ.” Ephesians 2v12-13 (NLT)

If you are not yet born again, why don’t you go to Him in prayer – confessing you are a sinner and asking Him to be the Lord over your life. And if you already know the Lord but have drifted or sinned, why don’t you confess your sins today.
